Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
After a meet and greet in the morning, you will depart for the Samburu Game Reserve.
Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve, which attracts wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. This area is rich in abundance with several rare species, such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the beisa oryx (also referred to as “Samburu Special Five”).
You will arrive in time for lunch at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. From here, you will proceed on an afternoon game drive in reserve. Later you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
Go on an early morning game drive
Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Spend the rest of the morning at your leisure or go on an optional visit to a nearby Masai village.
Return to the lodge for lunch
Some coffee and tea before departing on another game drive at 4 Pm
Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3: Samburu – Olpajeta Conservancy
After breakfast, you will drive to Ol-Pajeta Conservancy near Mount Kenya.
Ol-Pejeta is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees. It also has one of the highest predator densities in Kenya. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plans will guarantee you an unforgettable safari experience. You will arrive in time for lunch at the Sweet Waters Serena Luxury Camp.
Later in the afternoon, you go on a game drive within the Sweet Waters Ol Pajeta Conservancy. Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.
Day 4: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park lies in central Kenya, 140km northwest of Nairobi in the Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem here is comprised of the lake, forest, and bushy grasslands. It supports a wide array of wildlife, although the flamingos and other water birds are the major attractions of the area! The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals, including the white rhino.
You will arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive in the park. Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
After breakfast, you will depart for the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most outstanding wildlife reserves.
The Mara is situated in southwest Kenya and, together with Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse and most spectacular ecosystem. It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October.
You will arrive at the Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch, enjoying a game drive en-route. After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive and later return for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve
Today you can choose between two itineraries:
Itinerary One:
Have breakfast and then depart with a packed lunch in hand for a full day game drive in the park. You will be in search of the “great migration” and the “Big Five.” Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Itinerary Two:
Go on an early morning game drive
Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Spend the rest of the morning at your leisure or go on an optional visit to a nearby Masai village.
Return to the lodge for lunch
Some coffee and tea before departing on another game drive at 4 Pm
Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve
Today you can choose between three itineraries:
Itinerary 1:
Go on a hot air balloon ride in the early morning, which is optional! You will be picked up from your camp and transferred to the balloon launch site. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. After the ride, you will be given a certificate. Afterward, you will drive back to the camp for breakfast and game drives.
Itinerary 2:
Go on an early morning game drive
Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Spend the rest of the morning at your leisure or go on an optional visit to a nearby Masai village.
Return to the lodge for lunch
Some coffee and tea before departing on another game drive at 4 Pm
Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Itinerary 3:
Eat breakfast and then depart with a packed lunch in hand for a full day game drive. You will be in search of the “great migration” and the “Big Five.” Return in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast, you will drive back to Nairobi, where you will spend the day at your leisure (depending on your flight schedule). Later we will transfer you to the airport or your hotel in Nairobi.
